Background Jake is the son of former Orchestra violinst, Johan Kim ( formerly Johan Quaison ) turned teacher and a digital press technician, Chin-hae Kim. He grew up in Incheon, South Korea with his dads.Jake had a fairly normal upbringing, no tragedies to speak of. Although he had a hard time forming lasting friendships and was described as an anti-social child. He would rather nap and doodle in his sketchbook than interact with any of the other kids.When he was seven, his dads and him had planned to visit Chin-hae's parents. Their car got trapped in the snow for quite some time until a mysterious stranger helped them. To this day Jake doesn't know who the person was but the small random act of kindness forver changed the trajectory of his life.At twelve years old, Jake picked up a spray can and hasn't put it down since. Painting is his life, his passion. At thirteen he decided to take his dream of being be a rescue focused hero seriously and began focusing on that.Instead of attending a school in his home country, he journeyed to Japan and passed Yuuei's entrance exam.

Personality - Jake is a bit cycnical of the world around him. He generally keeps his face set in a near-permanent scowl, with his eyebrows drawn together. Despite this he is a compassionate person who despises how greedy human beings can be. He can also be narrow-minded in his beliefs and can be quick to judge others sometimes.He also attempts to maintain a detached and "cool" image around others, hiding his softer side from most people. He also has a low tolerance for other people's tomfoolery and bafoonery ( as he puts it ) but he does have a sense of humor and can use his quirk to do some mischevious things.He can also have some hipster tendencies that can lead to him coming across as slightly pretentious when he doesn't mean to be.
